Print Questions
What material should I select?
Resin (SLA Printing)
✅ Best for: High-detail, smooth finishes, miniatures, prototypes, and jewelry.
✅ Pros: Exceptional detail, smooth surface, good for painting.
❌ Cons: More brittle than thermoplastics, not ideal for functional parts.
PLA Filament (Polylactic Acid)
✅ Best for: General-purpose prints, terrain, aesthetic models, and prototypes.
✅ Pros: Low cost, commercially composable, great surface quality.
❌ Cons: Brittle, lower heat resistance, not ideal for mechanical parts.
ABS Filament (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)
✅ Best for: Functional parts, mechanical components, and moderate heat resistance.
✅ Pros: Stronger and more impact-resistant than PLA, withstands boiling temperatures.
❌ Cons: Prone to shrinking, which may cause print failure. Non UV resistant.
ASA Filament (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate)
✅ Best for: Outdoor use, automotive parts, and weather-resistant prints.
✅ Pros: UV-resistant, stronger and more durable than ABS, good for long-term exposure.
❌ Cons: More expensive than ABS
Custom materials are available on request.
How long does printing take?
Printing turnaround is expected within 5 business days. Completion guaranteed within 2 weeks for FDM and resin prints.
Can I expedite/overnight my print?
YES! Printing can be expedited with 1 week, 3 day, and overnight options available. Please call at 021-076-2107 to check availability and cost for expedited prints.
How strong are 3D prints?
This is VERY dependent on the object, and the material used. ABS or ASA are usually the best choice for tough prints. Tough resin is good if you need amazing detail and toughness, but it is a trade-off.
We can also cast prints in ultra-strong materials such as polyurethane resin, or even have them metal printed, but that’s usually very expensive overkill.
